Ecomed has been successful with the acceptance of the BioCon 700 bladder scanner and accessories on the current QLD state contract. Ecomed was further delighted when the BioCon 700 was chosen for a complete fleet conversion across one of Queensland’s largest public hospitals, as well as success in many QLD public institutions.  Ease of use, reliability and growing clinician confidence with the BioCon bladder scanners are key contributors to the increase in popularity of this equipment; not to mention full in-house calibration.

The Mcube Bladder Scanners BioCon-700 and BioCon-500 are portable non-invasive 3D ultrasound systems intended to measure the volume of residual urine in a patient’s bladder. They use ultrasound signals to determine the bladder’s outline and total volume of urine. The revolutionary real-time Pre-Scan function allows clinicians a clear vision of the bladder prior to scanning, thereby improving the accuracy of results. Immediate printout of results is possible via the integrated printer, or the included CubeScan PC software can be used to upload saved data to a computer for later review.  The BioCon 700 bladder scanner has its own SD card for ease of downloading information directly to PC or laptop, without the need for cabling. Both bladder scanners are compact, with a long-lasting internal rechargeable battery allowing for use in all locations. In addition theBioCon 700 is a light-weight, hand-held device making it the popular choice for clinicians with an easy-to-use colour touch screen for quick access. The BioCon 500 is a larger system with a clear LCD black and white display.

Both the BioCon-700 and BioCon-500 bladder scanners can be calibrated in house, including general maintenance, without requiring return to manufacturer. This bladder scanner calibration procedure is performed very simply with the use of the Calibration Kit and following the instructions included in the service manual.
